About Us

Established in 2003, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is a multidisciplinary institution renowned for its industry-aligned curriculum and leading-edge specialisations. It is recognised by India’s University Grants Commission and is NIRF-ranked by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Accredited Grade 'A' by NAAC and awarded QS 5-Star rating for Employability, Academic Development, Facilities, and Program Strength, UPES enables the new generation of learners to realise the best in themselves and the world they will help shape.

Located in the serene locales of the Himalayan foothills, the university has a sprawling 44 acres campus and state-of-the-art infrastructure. It offers specialised undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Engineering, Management, Law, Health Sciences, Design, Modern Media and Computer Sciences. The faculty at UPES comprises eminent Chevening, Commonwealth, and Fulbright Nehru scholars along with international faculty from diverse socio-cultural settings.

UPES welcomes foreign students through varied study options such as Semester Exchange, Year Exchange, Projects and Internships. UPES’ membership with various international forums also promotes the exchange program. The university has over 50 MoUs with partners across the globe and several active associations with international bodies.
