About Us

O.P. Jindal Global University is a non-profit global university established in 2009 by the Government of Haryana and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In 2020, JGU was recognized as an Institution of Eminence by the Indian Ministry of Education. The institution was built as a philanthropic initiative of its Founding Chancellor, Mr. Naveen Jindal, in memory of his father, Mr. O.P. Jindal. The institution aspires to serve as a model for institutional excellence in higher education and has made significant progress towards achieving the goal through its nine schools; three research, capacity building, and training institutes; and multiple research initiatives and centers.

JGU is a research-intensive university deeply committed to its core institutional values of interdisciplinarity and innovative pedagogy; pluralism and rigorous scholarship; and globalism and international engagement. JGU maintains a 1:9 faculty-student ratio and appoints faculty members from India and the globe to ensure to meet the standards and the goals of the institution.
