Dr. P.G.Sankaran took charge of the position on 25th April 2023. He has occupied the position of the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University twice. Dr.Sankaran has more than 28 years of experience in teaching and research. He had served as Head, Department of Statistics, CUSAT and as Director, Centre for Population Studies.
Dr.Sankaran got masters and doctoral degrees in Statistics from CUSAT. He received BOYSCAST fellowship of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in 2000. He got Young Researcher Award of International Indian Statistical Association in 2010.
Dr.Sankaran has published more than 178 research papers in international journals. He has already guided 16 research students for their doctoral degrees.
Dr.Sankaran is member of various academic committees of reputed institutions. He is an elected member of international Statistical Institute, The Netherlands. He has research collaborations with reputed institutions with in India and abroad.
