The Arunachal University of Studies has been established by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh through an Act of State Legislator. The University is duly recognized by UGC u/s 2(f) and is empowered to award degrees specified u/s 22 of UGC Act 1956. The University is the member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The certifications issued by the University are globally accepted.

Situated in the lap of nature, Arunachal University enjoys the status of being the 'Extreme North-Eastern University of India and blessed with the affection of Lord Donyi (Sun), as 'The First University to witness the sunrise in India'.

Situated at the serene location of Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh, which is also popular for the famous Buddhist temple and monastery, The Kongmu Kham (Golden Pagoda).

AUS is strategically located as it shares borders with many important districts of the region spread across theNorthern Brahmaputra belt such as Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Pasighat, Longding, Tirap, Changlang, Lohit, Anjaw, Lower Dibang Valley, Dibang Valley, Siang, Upper Siang, Sibsagar, Jorhat, Moran, Golaghat, Dumdooma, Kakopathar, Digboi, Dulijan, Margherita, Naharkatia, Namrup, Dhemaji and North Lakhimpur. The University has excellent connectivity via National Highway NH-52 and NH-37 by Road, Rail (Tinsukia) and Air (Dibrugarh). The connectivity between Eastern Arunachal Pradesh with NW Arunachal Pradesh & Assam has immensely improved after commissioning of the largest Rail cum Road over Bogibeel Bridge & the longest & famous The Bhupen Hazarika Setu.

The course curriculum is designed in a way which puts special emphasis on imparting education with practical applications thereby acting as a well-structured bridge that helps the students to connect the dots. The academic environment and surrounding of the University, is optimum for the young minds to learn and shape their careers. The University believes in imparting both knowledge & skill-based education to the students in a comprehensive format while not compromising on the traditional ways of pedagogy.

To be relevant with ever evolving career  dynamics we have taken a novel  approach and  clubbed the class room lectures and the practical elements together, to simulate real world conditions that enhances the learning process. This approach doesn’t only spark the interest of the students in their respective subjects but also help them imbibe its real-world applications. The University has applied for various Government aided Skill Entrepreneurship Development and Capacity Building programs which will soon commence at the campus. It has an active Placement Cell which is aggressively working to collaborate with leading organizations, acting as the final link that connects students with their desired careers and opportunities. Special emphasis is given on conducting active research that extends beyond the classroom by tackling some of the most critical and intellectual social issues. The research programs explore a diverse range of issues in all the departments of University for making a community devoted to understanding and improving the world around us.
