Ph.D. in Assamese

The Assamese Ph.D. program lasts 3 - 5 years and is full-time. A master's degree in Assamese or a similar discipline with at least 55% of the possible points—or 50% for those who are SC, ST, OBC, or PH—is required for eligibility. Assamese language studies, literary studies, folklore and cultural studies, the field of linguistic critical theory of texts, and research on translation are among the subjects covered in the program. Graduates can work as Assamese language consultants, university professors, or in other positions involving Assamese literature and language. Leading Assamese universities, including Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Assam University, and Tezpur University, offer the program.
