Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a 5.5 year undergraduate course that focuses on the study of Ayurveda, the traditional system of medicine in India. The course blends theoretical knowledge with practical training, covering subjects like human anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and Ayurvedic treatments. It also includes a one-year internship in hospitals or Ayurvedic clinics, offering hands-on experience. BAMS aims to equip students with the skills necessary to diagnose and treat diseases using natural, holistic methods, such as herbal medicines, Panchakarma therapy, and lifestyle management. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to practice as Ayurvedic doctors, providing alternative healthcare solutions in clinics, hospitals, and wellness centers. The course is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).
