The development and research of dialysis technologies and therapies is the main focus of a Ph.D. program in dialysis. Clinical research, biomedical engineering, and nephrology are among the subjects covered in the 4 - 6 year program. Students acquire competency in renal disease pathophysiology, dialysis modalities, and the development and assessment of dialysis tools and processes. Graduates of the program are equipped for jobs in academia, research facilities, or the dialysis sector, where they can further advance understanding of dialysis while improving patient outcomes.
