PhD Ayurveda is a program of 3 - 5 years duration which deals with the study of traditional medicine and its usages, effects etc. The program mainly lays its emphasis on the pharmaceutical botany and traditional medical science.
The basic eligibility criteria for PhD Ayurveda is post graduation in a relevant discipline with not less than 55% aggregate marks. Admissions to PhD Ayurveda are granted on the basis of merit as well as entrance scores, depending upon the institute.

Admissions to PhD Ayurveda is based on entrance exams scores in most of the universities or colleges. To take the entrance exam, candidates need to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria of the given college.
The detailed eligibility criteria for admissions to PhD Ayurveda is as follows:
Ques: Is there any increase in the salary in the private sector of the PhD, Ayurveda professor?
Ans: It does not matter whether it is government or private there is always a promotion in salary after a period of time. The initial average salary offered by the college/ university increases as the criteria of that particular college.
Ques. Can a student complete it's PhD Ayurveda in less than 3 years ?
Ans: It totally depends upon the performance of the student. The academic performance at the research level is the most important thing. Since, students have to write a thesis so it's totally up to them if they complete it before time they can be given their doctoral degree if the college/ university has any criteria for that.
Ques. Can a candidate of 28 years of age be eligible to take admission in PhD, Ayurveda?
Ans. The minimum age limit for PhD, Ayurveda is 23 years whereas a minimum relaxation of 5 years is given to the reserved category (SC, ST, OBC, PWD).
Ques. Can one have the license to open its own pharmaceutical clinical store after pursuing PhD Ayurveda?
Ans. Yes, a person after pursuing it's PhD in Ayurveda is eligible to open its own clinical store legally by issuing a license.
Ques. Is it possible to do a PhD in Ayurveda after completing a BE in mechanical?
Ans. No. You cannot have a PhD in Ayurveda after a BE in Mechanical. For pursuing PhD Ayurveda, one must hold a BAMS, MD/MS ayurveda degree and have the knowledge related to the same. But you can request the university to provide a co-guide from the Ayurveda faculty if your research work is related to Ayurveda.
Ques. Does AIIMS have Ayurveda courses?
Ans. There is a separate branch of Ayurveda in the same campus as AIIMS called AIIA, that is, All India Institute of Ayurveda situated in Delhi. AIIMS doesn't look into the matters of AIIA, as they both have different administrative units.
